Following the Proposed Statement of Decision (“PSOD”) issued by Judge Cohn on February 8, 2019, the opposing parties filed objections to the PSOD, which was expected. SAHA counsel filed a response to the objections which has resulted in a hearing on May 16, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. for the judge to address each side. There will be oral argument so we encourage anyone interested to attend this hearing and invite your neighbours!

Important Update: The WRIT SAHA vs. LAFCO, et al. case

Judge Cohn issued a Statement of Decision in the SAHA v. LAFCO, et al. case. Judge Cohn found that LAFCO, in approving the annexation that is specifically prohibited by law is surely a prejudicial abuse of the agency’s discretion. The Statement of Decision will be made “final” after February 28, then a Judgment will be prepared.  Thank you to everyone that pounded the pavement, donated time and/or money, it was all worth it. We’ll keep posting updates as we get them, including when to expect refunds of the special tax.
